Kendall looked towards backstage, hoping, PRAYING, that she would be there. She never missed a show. Not one since his career started. But she wasn’t there. The set was almost over and she wasn’t there.
*Flashback 3 days before the show*
“God you’re such an egotistical asshole,” she screamed, tears rolling down her flushed pink cheeks as he took his jacket off the couch and headed for the door.
“Yeah, well if i’m such an egotistical asshole, maybe you shouldn’t have started dating me!” And with that he was gone.
And for the next 3 days, they wouldn’t speak. They wouldn’t even try to contact each other. When two people who are so desperately in love with each other, yet so equally hard headed and stubborn have a screaming match it seems like all is lost.
She stood there with her back against the bedroom door, phone gripped tightly in hand, ready to give in, ready for him to win. But instead she threw the phone across the room, breaking the picture frame on the bed stand.
Shattered glass covered a picture of a once happy couple sitting on the beach. A young girl with her head on the shoulder of the boy who promised never to leave her.
*Flash forward to the day of the show*
“She’s gonna be here man, she’s never missed a show. One fight won’t change that,” Carlos said, reassuring Kendall who was constantly looking towards backstage.
Last song…
One last look… nothing.
For the first time he realized how badly he screwed up. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath and and poured his heart into this song. Maybe if he sang like she was in the room that she would feel what he was feeling. She would somehow know that she was the only one he wanted to be with. The only one he wants to see wearing his t-shirt. The only one.
End of the song…
He rushed back stage, right past her. She turned around and watched as he realized who he passed. He stopped dead in his tracks, turned on his heels and made his way back to the only one he’s ever wanted.
“You’re here… Had me worried, i didn’t see you. I thought you weren’t coming.”
“Honestly, when have i not shown up?”
He smiled and took her hands in his own, but she quickly jerked her hands away.
“That doesn’t mean i’m not still mad at you.”
He laughed, “Of course you are, but can we be mad together?”
“Sure, let’s go be madly in love together.”
